Continental Tempo II - 700c x 19mm Tubular Racing Wheelchair Tire

As a very light and fast track racing wheelchair tire, the Continental Tempo gathers medals at international track events again and again. It has also found its way onto the gossamer bikes of the climbing specialists during the grand tours. The Tempo features a 3-ply casing and a 180 thread-per-inch casing for a high-quality ride. The fine cross-hatch tread pattern maximizes grip on the banking without adding rolling resistance, too. This is a tubular racing wheelchair tire (also called a "sew-up"). It is compatible with tubular rims and is installed with glue or a special adhesive tape. The Continental Tempo racing chair tubular tire will not work on regular clincher wheels/rims, only tubular wheels/rims. Continental's Black Chili rubber compound significantly improves wear, traction and rolling resistance through the use of carbon nanotechnology, microscopic carbon particles in the rubber. These mold better to the ground and have more points of contact, which gives the tire more grip. And, because the compound matrix is formed of more particles, which are connected more tightly with each other, the tire lasts longer. Plus, the smaller particles are more flexible, too, which improves rolling resistance.
